What a warm greeting.

I’ve probably read that a thousand times in all the times I’ve installed you over the years I don’t think I’ve ever responded to you, dear WordPress, or thanked you directly for all your hard work and heavy lifting.

Well, (this is a little odd, but) Um… Thank you, WordPress. You’re awesome and you get better at what you do every year.

Too mushy, maybe? Too crazy? Ha. Seems like I’m forgetting something…

Oh, I know what I forgot. I forgot to thank all the people that do all the fun, ahem… work to make WordPress possible. Well, howdy folks, and gosh darn it I thank y’all too, from the bottom of my heart. XOXO

Everyone Loves Tutorials

Here’s the new home for my tutorials, which will be coming soon. Here’s some good news… I won’t be wasting all your time with those silly video tutorials that for some bizarre reason (maybe out of touch or lazy people like most marketers?) have become popular.

I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather be able to scan through a document for the information I need instead of having to skip around some video, or worse, sit through the whole thing for the one bit of info I need.

And, all the visuals I need are a few pics of whatever needs to be seen instead of watching somebody slowly stumble through whatever it is, while they droll on and on.

Give me a good written tutorial any day over that video tutorial nonsense. And, that’s what you’ll get here. As soon as I get some free time.

Man, even the word sounds ugly… “blog”… “blawwg”… It sounds like somebody barfing. I think I hate blogs.

Don’t get me wrong, I read them all the time. I just miss the days when they were just called websites and that was that. If you want to blabber about your day on your website and put it in chronological order, go for it. I just can’t stand the name “blog” and the idea isn’t much better.

It sounds like being a slave to me… having to become some kind of underpaid journalist that is constantly worried about deadlines and coming up with the next story.

No Thanks, not for me. I’ll be posting my articles here though, whenever I feel like it and that means only when I’ve got something worth sharing, not just periodically like some sort of Google parrot. Traffic be damned. I work better under the radar anyway. If only I didn’t have to hang this shingle for my freelancing, but it’s years overdue now.
